Crafty Customers | Candy Christmas Tree

One of my seriously crafty customers, Marisela, sent me this photo last week to show me a paper Christmas tree she made using my Candy Christmas printable. Isn’t this incredible?!!

Her sweet daughter wanted a pink Christmas tree this year (now that’s a girl after my heart!) and when Marisela saw my new printable collection, she knew it would be a perfect fit! I was so excited to see this tree in my Inbox, hello crafty goodness! I love the notches  cut out of the tree for paper decorations and the cute star snowman at the top.

Thanks so much for sharing Marisela!

Candy Christmas Gingersnap Cookie Recipe Cards

Earlier this week my girls and I made one of our favorite cookies, my homemade gingersnaps. Sometimes I call them Ginger Crinkles because the top crinkles and glistens with sugar after they are baked.

I meant to take pictures all week, but with so much holiday crafting and blogging going on, pictures just never happened. Yesterday we were down to three cookies, so I grabbed them, set them up to snap a few shots, and made the mistake of walking away to grab the recipe card, when I came back to the sound of two giggling girls and this:

An empty plate. Nothing but crumbs. I barely got a bite as they slipped the last little pieces into their mouths. So my plan to take a picture of these lovely, decadent, crinkly, gingersnap cookies with the recipe card was just not meant to be.I really wanted to show you how amazingly yummy these cookies look, so you know what you’re getting when you download the gingersnap recipe card I put up on Scribd for you. But all you get is this:

A plate of crumbs and a lovely recipe card for super yummy gingersnaps that I just can’t seem to keep around for very long.  Believe me, they are well worth the surprise.

If you’re doing some holiday baking this weekend, you just may want to download this recipe card. Keep one for yourself and share one with a friend. They’ll thank you for it!

Parties | Candy Christmas Birthday Party

Yesterday I introduced my new Candy Christmas Collection, and the full party was featured over on Double Fun Parties (thanks Jennifer!). Now I’m back to share some more candy-fulled party pictures of Sadie’s 4th birthday.

I had so much fun putting together this party for Sadie. It is just so girlie, candy kissed and brightly coloured, lollipop lovely!

A table filled with gum balls, salt water taffy, chocolate bars, candy buttons, chicken bones (no, not real chicken bones, the chocolate-filled cinnamon candy kind), gingerbread men, flavoured marshmallows, gum drops, spice drops, lollipops and the cutest little cake. A candy lover’s dream!

Caramilk and Hershey’s Holiday Collection mini’s were wrapped with chocolate bar wraps and placed on a platter lined in scrapbooking paper from the collection.

Gingerbread cookies from a local fine foods store were placed on another platter lined with my favorite scrapbooking paper from the printable collection.

Giant blue and green gumballs were used to anchor rock candy lollipops .

Vanilla marshmallows are one of the birthday girl’s favorite treats. The strawberry marshmallows (I picked them on my last trip stateside) were a lovely surprise for her since they aren’t readily available in Canada.

Hammond’s Lollipops were anchored by a mix of mini gingerbread men, red gum balls and mini candy canes.

Paper straws in classic glass bottles were decorated with the Candy Party Circles available in the Candy Christmas Collection.

Favor bags lined up at the side of the table were filled with sweet treats and candy shaped lip gloss.

The birthday cake was a triple layer chocolate-vanilla-chocolate frosted with a swiss meringue buttercream. The bottom of the cake was trimmed in pink gum balls, while the top was decorated with candy and a gingerbread house, set up to look like a candy version of the North Pole. Such a simple way to make a big statement for a birthday cake! The cake was made by me, which I don’t regularly do for client parties, but for friends and their little girls, I bake.

The dining table where the girls sat to eat was dressed with a bright candy themed table cloth, and each place setting was set with the candy colouring sheet and party hat available in the collection, markers and utensils.

I used the 2″ Candy Party Circles from the collection to to make napkin rings for the utensils by punching two small holes on both sides of the candy party circle. After wrapping the utensils in bright napkins, I wrapped a matching ribbon around the utensils, then threaded the ribbon through the holes in the party circle and pulled the ribbon tight around the utensils. Simple, but very candy cute for the place settings and the girls loved them!

One last look.

I hope you enjoyed Sadie’s 4th birthday party. The Candy Christmas Collection DIY Printable Party will be hitting my Etsy shop today! Come back later today for a full look at the collection.

NEW IN THE SHOP | Candy Christmas Collection

I love candy! There I said it, I love candy and cookies. Cookies are my kryptonite. There is a little girl I know (Sadie who is now 4), a candy lover and a fellow December baby who feels much the same way I do. So when the opportunity came up to put together a candy, Christmas inspired birthday for her, I couldn’t help but say YES!

I have been wanting to design a Candy Christmas printable since hitting the Bakerella book signing at Teatro Verde last December (almost exactly one year ago actually). Their pink trees were brimming with candy decorations, so dreamy, so sweet, so I couldn’t get it done in time. So I held onto the idea and well, the time came. So one little girl had a fantastically candy Christmas birthday and I have a new Candy Christmas DIY Printable Party to share with you! I feel like I’ve been hoarding this bubblegum coloured, candy infused collection all to myself for far too long.

I am super excited to formally introduce you to my new Candy Christmas DIY Pintable Party! I am in mad love with this candy infused collection. Such mad love, that it is available in a BIRTHDAY version (for all those winter baby’s who love candy) AND a COOKIE EXCHANGE version (for all those December cookie swaps)!!! Mad, mad love.
