{NEW TO SHOP} fang-tastic

I am getting super excited about Halloween this year! Gathering costume ideas for my girls, preliminary planning for creepy food week (which I really must focus on as it’s only a week and a half away – eeek!) and planning new Halloween decor to add to our classic favorites. In the midst of all this brainstorming, an idea hit for me a new Halloween printable that is a little less girlie (have I told you today how much I love my girlie ghost?) and a little more creepy, you know, for the boys. It is fang-tastically cute and it’s hitting my Etsy shop today!

This one is all about the vampires and bats!

It all starts with an invitation to a fang-tastic Halloween party!

Hey, come on over for a bite!

A party full of bite sized sweets…

creepy treats…

and once bitten cupcakes.

I vant to suck your blood!

And of course there are party staples like bottle wrappers and party circles for decorating cupcakes…

and favors full of creepy toys and candy!

I wanted something creepier and detail oriented to decorate the table and windows, so instead of a traditional banner I opted for a bunting of bats and a couple of bat mobiles!  Ha ha ha.

This collection includes bats in small, medium and large so you can be batty and make your own bat mobile and bunting.

The Fang-tastic DIY Printable Party Collection is now in my Etsy shop!

{new to shop} giving thanks

I cannot wait for the weekend! Going to see Bryan Ferry this Saturday, seriously jumping up and down I’m so excited!!! AND it’s Thanksgiving weekend in Canada which means turkey and homemade pumpkin pie. Lucky us, we get to enjoy two Thanksgiving dinners; one with my husband’s family and then one at home on Monday. So eager to cook that bird!

What I’m also excited about today is my new printable party for Thanksgiving is ready today (woot!) and I’m giving a few sets away to some fabulous ladies! Late last week I put out a call to all my readers and friends (all of you!) on Facebook asking, what are your favorite Thanksgiving dishes? I found that sweet potato pie/casserole, as long as it had marshmallows was the winner above all when it came to Thanksgiving faves. But you told me all about your favorite dishes and had some wonderful stories to share about them as well, so thank you. Thank you for sharing your stories and your favorite dishes, it introduced me to some new yummy dishes to try, but most of all it just warms my cockles that you are here, conversing and sharing with me. Thank you.

So, I was asking for your favorite dishes so I could pre-fill the food labels in my new Thanksgiving collection with your favorite foods, so all you ahve to do is literally, print, cut and decorate! Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy. And part of my deal was if you share, and I pick your item to be one of the 12 (which actually ended up being 16), you would receive the Giving Thanks printable with my gratitude for participating and helping me create this collection!

I ended up pre-filling 16 food labels, really I just couldn’t stop. I hope we’ve got you covered with your favorites! They are:

Buttery Whipped Mashed Potatoes
Perfect Pumpkin Pie
Mouthwatering Roasted Turkey
Sweet Potato Casserole w/Marshmallows
Maple Glazed Carrots
Homemade Cranberry Jelly
Brown Sugar Glazed Ham
Maple Sugar Turnip Mash
Tasty Green Bean Casserole
Savoury Herb Stuffing
Carmelized Candied Yams
Mama’s Brown Sugar Apple Pie
Roasted Root Vegetables
Sweet Potato Pie
Super Sweet Corn Off The Cob
Fresh Pressed Apple Cider

Does that cover everything? Heck, I’ll even throw in a sheet of blank tent cards just in case you need them!

So I’m very happy to announce that Kristine, Emma, Nicole, Shannon and Melissa, you all get a complimentary copy of the Giving Thanks DIY Printable Party for your Thanksgiving this year! Please contact me at tracey (@) welovecraftytracey (dot) com, to let me know which email addy you would like me to send it to.

If you didn’t get a chance to tell me your favorite Thanksigiving dish, well by all means, tell me in the comments below! I’d still love to hear about it. And if you’d like your own copy, I can hook you up there too.

The Giving Thanks printable is now available in my Etsy shop.

Are you hosting a Halloween party  this year? Get excited because I have just launched my latest DIY Printable Party collection for Halloween!

I have been so eager to share this classic black, orange and white collection with you! If you want to host a Halloween party in traditional colours with a whole lot of sweetness, this may be the collection for you. A little spooky with a frightful BOO, but mostly full of sweetness with plenty of candy corn and a cutie patootie ghost wearing a bow on her head and I am totally in love with her!

The Happy Halloween collection has everything you need to craft a sweet and spooktacular party! Invitations with a DIY crafty flair, 3 sheets of party circles, 2 sheets of bottle wrappers, tent cards, favor tags, 3 party signs, ghost cut outs, mini chocolate bar wrappers, a Happy Halloween banner, and 10 sheets of coordinating decorative papers so you can create your favorite paper decorations in coordinating patterns. I used the paper to cover the tops of some loot bags, line platters and decorate lollipop stands.

We all know I love gumballs! So I had to make a giant candy corn out of gumballs and an icing bag. I just couldn’t resist.

And because I love a simple party DIY, you can decorate your invitations with a party circle of your choice! Simply, print and punch out your favorite party circles and attach at the top of your invite (guide circle provided on the invites). Candy corn and jack-o-lanterns for the boys and cutie patootie girlie ghost for the girls!

Seriously, I love her!

The Happy Halloween Collection is now available in my Etsy shop!

And because I’m so excited to finally be able to share this with you, I am launching the collection with a 50% OFF sale!

Get the collection for $10.00 until Oct 5, 2011!

{NEW TO SHOP} strawberry social

Jun

This lovely summer weather we’ve been having has me craving strawberries! I hit my favorite farm market last Friday and walked away with strawberries fresh from their fields, and can we say heavenly? Nothing like fresh Ontario strawberries straight from the field, red, ripe and juicy sweet! I always look forward to strawberry season, it means strawberry shortcake, strawberry jam and strawberry wine from my favorite winery, yum, yum and yum!

With the upcoming strawberry season in mind, and the plentiful requests from mom’s for non-commercially themed Strawberry Shortcake-esque party printables, I got to work on my new Strawberry Social DIY Printable Party Collection!

And because I coudn’t choose between lime green stripes or pink polka dots on red for the invitations, you get to! Tell me, which do you like best?

Lime green stripes?

Or pink polka dots on red?

This collection is available in my Etsy shop. It’s 50% OFF for a limited time!

If you want coordinating bottle wrappers, tent cards, favor tags or a banner, just send me an email and I’ll get to work!

As a special treat, if you purchase the Strawberry Social Party Circles  or Strawberry Social Invitations over the next week, you’ll receive the Strawberry Shortcake Decorative Papers set for FREE! After that, they’ll be $4.00, so don’t wait, summer is coming!

I’d love to hear from hear you! Tell me which invitation design is your fave!

simple egg stands

Apr
20

Welcome back for another installment of “what can you do with the free Easter Egg printable?” This craft comes to you care of my days as a 4yo in primary school. Do you remember the crafts you would make around Easter in kindergarten and grade 1? I remember a lot of simple cut and paste, strips of paper and egg cartons. One of the crafts we would make were egg stands, simple strips of paper curled into a circle which we used to balance and display our freshly painted Easter eggs. Sometimes we would glue bunny heads on the front, or flowers. I would make a couple at school and then go home and make one for every member of my family, so we all had an egg stand at breakfast! Yes, I was that girl.

This is a fun craft to do with your children for Easter! All you need is the free Easter Egg printable, a second sheet of decorative paper (I used a polka dot paper found in the coordinating Easter Egg DIY Printable Party collection available in my Etsy shop), scissors, tape and a hard boiled egg.

Cut out the easter eggs on the printable sheet. Cut your decorative paper into strips, approximately .75″ wide and 5″ long.

Curl your strip of paper into a circle and secure with tape.

Attach the Easter egg to the paper circle with tape on the back side of the egg.

Place your hard boiled egg into the egg stand.

Decorate your place settings for Easter breakfast!

Tell me, do you remember making these as a child?

Come back tomorrow for our final installment of “what can you do with the free Easter Egg printable?”. Tomorrow we make lollipop covers!

decorating your rocketship party!

Feb
25

Yesterday we love crafty Tracey launched (pun intended) a new DIY Printable Party, the Rocketship Collection!  This printable collection includes everything you need for your aspiring astronaut’s birthday party, including some fun printables for creating new and fun party decor! It includes all your regular party staples; invitations, bottle wraps, party circles, banner, loot bag toppers and tent cards, but there is some extra fun! Let me illustrate!

The Rocketship Collection includes a set of Decorative Papers.

I love to include a set of decorative papers with all printable parties. Coordinating papers let you customize ALL of your party elements! You can use them to wrap boxes for display on treat and food tables, fold them to makes boxes or envelopes for the coordinating invitations, line platters and trays full of sweets and treats. You can also use them to embellish invitations, seating cards or food labels. They can also be cut into strips to wrap around bottles and glasses, or in this case, the rocket paper was used to decorate cans holding crayons on the coloring table. (More on the coloring table tomorrow!)

There are a 101 ways to use coordinating decorative papers to decorate and embellish a party. Truth be told, they are a whole lotta fun to design!

A new element in some of the printable parties are decor cut-outs. What are decor cut-outs you ask? Decor cut-outs are larger renditions of the theme images from a printable party theme, which you can ‘cut out’ to decorate your party! In December, cut-outs were included in the Classic Vintage Holiday Collection to be used as tree decorations. The recently launched Vintage Racecar Collection included cut-outs for cake decor! I LOVE the idea of printable cake decor! It makes decorating a homebaked cake super simple, and keeps the party theme! Perfect for those do-it-yourself mama’s who are nervous at the idea of extensive cake decorating or playing with fondant. Which is why the Rocketship Collection includes  cut outs as well!

These cut outs can be used as cake decor. Just cut out the rocket, Moon, Mars and Saturn, attach each to a lollipop stick or skewer with a bit of tape or glue, and stick into cake to create a space scene! But these cut outs can be used for much, much more!

You can make a hanging mobile! Use a hole punch to punch a single hole near the top of each cut out, attach a piece of twine or clear plastic thread and hang from ceiling to create a space scene above the party goers. This would be a great way to decorate  the vertical space above a dessert table, especially if the dessert table is decorated with our coordinating printables.

You can also make a birthday banner! Again use a hole punch to punch two holes in each cut out, thread onto a piece of twine or ribbon and attach to a wall or a table to create a rocketship in space banner.

If you want to get really creative, you can even use the cut outs to create a Send-The-Rocketship-Into-Space game, a take on the old favorite pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey. Just print out as many copies of the Rocketship Cut Outs file as you need so each party guest has a rocketship. Glue ALL of the planets onto a paper or fabric backing leaving a definite space for the rocketship somewhere in the picture. Party guests try to pin the rocketship in the empty space without hitting one of the planets.

I love finding new takes on pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey. Have you seen the Pin-The-Hair-On-Justin-Bieber game I made for my daughter’s 8th birthday?

There are so many fun things you can do with a DIY Printable Party! What do you like to do with your printables?
