Parties | Candy Christmas Birthday Party

Yesterday I introduced my new Candy Christmas Collection, and the full party was featured over on Double Fun Parties (thanks Jennifer!). Now I’m back to share some more candy-fulled party pictures of Sadie’s 4th birthday.

I had so much fun putting together this party for Sadie. It is just so girlie, candy kissed and brightly coloured, lollipop lovely!

A table filled with gum balls, salt water taffy, chocolate bars, candy buttons, chicken bones (no, not real chicken bones, the chocolate-filled cinnamon candy kind), gingerbread men, flavoured marshmallows, gum drops, spice drops, lollipops and the cutest little cake. A candy lover’s dream!

Caramilk and Hershey’s Holiday Collection mini’s were wrapped with chocolate bar wraps and placed on a platter lined in scrapbooking paper from the collection.

Gingerbread cookies from a local fine foods store were placed on another platter lined with my favorite scrapbooking paper from the printable collection.

Giant blue and green gumballs were used to anchor rock candy lollipops .

Vanilla marshmallows are one of the birthday girl’s favorite treats. The strawberry marshmallows (I picked them on my last trip stateside) were a lovely surprise for her since they aren’t readily available in Canada.

Hammond’s Lollipops were anchored by a mix of mini gingerbread men, red gum balls and mini candy canes.

Paper straws in classic glass bottles were decorated with the Candy Party Circles available in the Candy Christmas Collection.

Favor bags lined up at the side of the table were filled with sweet treats and candy shaped lip gloss.

The birthday cake was a triple layer chocolate-vanilla-chocolate frosted with a swiss meringue buttercream. The bottom of the cake was trimmed in pink gum balls, while the top was decorated with candy and a gingerbread house, set up to look like a candy version of the North Pole. Such a simple way to make a big statement for a birthday cake! The cake was made by me, which I don’t regularly do for client parties, but for friends and their little girls, I bake.

The dining table where the girls sat to eat was dressed with a bright candy themed table cloth, and each place setting was set with the candy colouring sheet and party hat available in the collection, markers and utensils.

I used the 2″ Candy Party Circles from the collection to to make napkin rings for the utensils by punching two small holes on both sides of the candy party circle. After wrapping the utensils in bright napkins, I wrapped a matching ribbon around the utensils, then threaded the ribbon through the holes in the party circle and pulled the ribbon tight around the utensils. Simple, but very candy cute for the place settings and the girls loved them!

One last look.

I hope you enjoyed Sadie’s 4th birthday party. The Candy Christmas Collection DIY Printable Party will be hitting my Etsy shop today! Come back later today for a full look at the collection.

{NEW TO SHOP} sweet and simple party hats

I love a sweet and simple party. A small affair with nothing but a 4 layer cake topped off with bunting, homemade marshmallows, drinks and party hats.

Yes, I must admit I do so love a pretty party hat. It can be hard to keep them on the kidlets at times, but there’s mama proudly sporting her hat all day long.

If they coordinate with pretty party paperie, all the better! A little tissue paper flower at the top, an elastic stapled to the sides to keep it snug around my chin, and I’m a happy girl. But I also like to wear flowers on my head (fabric and tissue). I think this must be related.

So for you lovers off all things sweet, and all things party hat, I now have Sweet and Simple Party Hats in my Etsy shop.

And they are completely customizable! Just like the Sweet and Simple Collection, all you have to do is tell me the colour and pattern you love and I’ll make you a party hat, so you can print off as many as you need. Perfectly matching and so very sweet.

The Sweet and Simple Party Hats are now in my Etsy shop! But I want to give every lucky reader a party hat of their own! Yes, EVERY reader because I am that excited about this new collection and I would love for you to spread the word! Entry is simple!

{NEW TO SHOP} happy halloween!

Are you hosting a Halloween party  this year? Get excited because I have just launched my latest DIY Printable Party collection for Halloween!

I have been so eager to share this classic black, orange and white collection with you! If you want to host a Halloween party in traditional colours with a whole lot of sweetness, this may be the collection for you. A little spooky with a frightful BOO, but mostly full of sweetness with plenty of candy corn and a cutie patootie ghost wearing a bow on her head and I am totally in love with her!

The Happy Halloween collection has everything you need to craft a sweet and spooktacular party! Invitations with a DIY crafty flair, 3 sheets of party circles, 2 sheets of bottle wrappers, tent cards, favor tags, 3 party signs, ghost cut outs, mini chocolate bar wrappers, a Happy Halloween banner, and 10 sheets of coordinating decorative papers so you can create your favorite paper decorations in coordinating patterns. I used the paper to cover the tops of some loot bags, line platters and decorate lollipop stands.

We all know I love gumballs! So I had to make a giant candy corn out of gumballs and an icing bag. I just couldn’t resist.

And because I love a simple party DIY, you can decorate your invitations with a party circle of your choice! Simply, print and punch out your favorite party circles and attach at the top of your invite (guide circle provided on the invites). Candy corn and jack-o-lanterns for the boys and cutie patootie girlie ghost for the girls!

Seriously, I love her!

The Happy Halloween Collection is now available in my Etsy shop!

friday crafts

Happy Friday! I am in the midst of party planning prep for my daughter’s 9th birthday birthday coming up this weekend. It will be a weekend of crafting, baking and set up and I am excited to get to the baking and set up. I am eager to pop open my bucket of fondant. Apparently, it is supposed to smell and taste similar to cotton candy. Right there I was sold. Smell and taste like cotton candy?!?! My favorite candy ever! Sold! I am eager to crack the lid and breathe in that sweet aroma. That and well, I haven’t played with fondant since April and am super excited to get my fingers into that sticky sweetness.

This morning I finished the zebra flower headbands for the party which turned out beautifully. I did have a moment last night when I started the first flower when I thought they were not working out quite like I hoped. It looked all wonky in the beginning, but by the time I curled the center in on itself, it was just as I pictured in my head. I hope the girls like them!

Here’s a quick shot from my mobile:

Come back the tutorial coming next week!

This afternoon I am putting the last item together for my new Happy Halloween collection, soon to be in my Etsy shop! I am seriously in love with the ghost. Would you like to see her?

I don’t know what it is, but I adore her.

I feel like the luckiest girl, a weekend of crafting and baking and mini makeover birthday party, oh yeah! Wishing you a fun and crafty weekend too!
