Happy Thanksgiving

Pumpkin pie. Turkey. Cranberry jelly. It must be Canadian Thanksgiving weekend! Truth be told, I am the only one in my family who loves turkey (I know, what?!?!), so we’re trying something new this weekend. After the family Thanksgiving of course, which I’m hoping will involve turkey.

Thanksgiving this year will involve roast chicken, maple glazed carrots, green beans almondine, cheese scallop potatoes, mashed potatoes for the kidlets and pie. I’m looking forward to it all! And I’m ready with my wheat sheaf and jack-o-lantern pottery and candles. And my Giving Thanks printable of course!

I love bringing this out every year, along with my wheat sheaf. It has become a part of of Fall and Thanksgiving for me. Serious, I love that yellow.

I am thankful for many things this year. The gift of my children and husband. The legacy and blessing of having known and been loved by my loved ones who has passed on this year. The magical path that has opened up to me. Good chocolate.

So many things to be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving Canadian friends! Wishing you a weekend filled with family, friends and turkey!

giving thanks

{new to shop} giving thanks

I cannot wait for the weekend! Going to see Bryan Ferry this Saturday, seriously jumping up and down I’m so excited!!! AND it’s Thanksgiving weekend in Canada which means turkey and homemade pumpkin pie. Lucky us, we get to enjoy two Thanksgiving dinners; one with my husband’s family and then one at home on Monday. So eager to cook that bird!

What I’m also excited about today is my new printable party for Thanksgiving is ready today (woot!) and I’m giving a few sets away to some fabulous ladies! Late last week I put out a call to all my readers and friends (all of you!) on Facebook asking, what are your favorite Thanksgiving dishes? I found that sweet potato pie/casserole, as long as it had marshmallows was the winner above all when it came to Thanksgiving faves. But you told me all about your favorite dishes and had some wonderful stories to share about them as well, so thank you. Thank you for sharing your stories and your favorite dishes, it introduced me to some new yummy dishes to try, but most of all it just warms my cockles that you are here, conversing and sharing with me. Thank you.

So, I was asking for your favorite dishes so I could pre-fill the food labels in my new Thanksgiving collection with your favorite foods, so all you ahve to do is literally, print, cut and decorate! Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy. And part of my deal was if you share, and I pick your item to be one of the 12 (which actually ended up being 16), you would receive the Giving Thanks printable with my gratitude for participating and helping me create this collection!

I ended up pre-filling 16 food labels, really I just couldn’t stop. I hope we’ve got you covered with your favorites! They are:

Buttery Whipped Mashed Potatoes
Perfect Pumpkin Pie
Mouthwatering Roasted Turkey
Sweet Potato Casserole w/Marshmallows
Maple Glazed Carrots
Homemade Cranberry Jelly
Brown Sugar Glazed Ham
Maple Sugar Turnip Mash
Tasty Green Bean Casserole
Savoury Herb Stuffing
Carmelized Candied Yams
Mama’s Brown Sugar Apple Pie
Roasted Root Vegetables
Sweet Potato Pie
Super Sweet Corn Off The Cob
Fresh Pressed Apple Cider

Does that cover everything? Heck, I’ll even throw in a sheet of blank tent cards just in case you need them!

So I’m very happy to announce that Kristine, Emma, Nicole, Shannon and Melissa, you all get a complimentary copy of the Giving Thanks DIY Printable Party for your Thanksgiving this year! Please contact me at tracey (@) welovecraftytracey (dot) com, to let me know which email addy you would like me to send it to.

If you didn’t get a chance to tell me your favorite Thanksigiving dish, well by all means, tell me in the comments below! I’d still love to hear about it. And if you’d like your own copy, I can hook you up there too.

The Giving Thanks printable is now available in my Etsy shop.

what do you serve for thanksgiving dinner?

Happy Friday!

I must tell you, I’ve been having a great week! Earlier this week I launched my new Happy Halloween printable, and I must say it is super sweet. You must check it out if you haven’t already (psst, it’s still on sale for 50% OFF!). I also won tickets to go see Dragonette tonight in Toronto. So I’m off to a concert tonight and I’m super excited about that! You should also check out Dragonette, they freaking rock!

And tomorrow I’m off to the beach with my family to close up for the season, which is kinda sad, but it’s been a great season! But I didn’t want to leave for the weekend without asking you dear readers, a question.

Canadian Thanksgiving is just around the corner! So of course, I’m working on some printables for Thanksgiving and would love your input! I always look forward to our annual Thanksgiving turkey dinner with all the trimmings! Stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, homemade cranberry jelly, sweet potato and apple bake, carrot and turnip mash, and homemade pumpkin pie. Mmm yum, I am salivating just thinking about it! A wonderful celebration of harvest and thanks with those I am most thankful for, my husband and my girls.

So my question to you is: what are your favorite Thanksgiving dishes?

I’d really like to prefill my Thanksgiving tent cards with your favorite Thanksgiving dishes so you can just print, cut and decorate your Thanksgiving table, easy peasy pudding pie! And because I am ever so thankful for my readers and customers, I want to give away a few sets of printables, or 12! If you tell me what your favorite dish is in the comments below or on my Facebook page, and if I pick your dish, I’ll give you the entire Thanksgiving printable set as a gift! You can tell me what your favorite dish is simple and straight up (like Mashed Potatoes) or with a fantastically descriptive title (like Double Butter Whipped Mashed Potatoes) just as long as you tell me 🙂

So tell me, what are your favorite Thanksgiving dishes?
